Kick Out at 2! Wrestlemania Predictions

Greetings everyone and welcome to the first ever Wrestlemania Predictions Post for Kick Out at 2! I feel like Shane and I have have come a long way since we started this little project back in October. We have met some interesting folks and have shared our thoughts with fellow fans who share the love of professional wrestling that we do. With the good week we have had I hope we keep this momentum as we move forward with the other projects we hope to be reviled soon here at

With that being said let us get started with the predictions, this time dedicated to the main reason we all watch wrestling; WRESTLEMANIA!

“Once in a Lifetime Match”

John Cena vs The Rock

Robbie’s Pick: The Rock – I have said since day one that The Rock will walk out of his home town of Miami the Winner. My last entry goes into more detail as to why I believe this but I honestly see The Great One beating John Cena fair and square.

Shane’s Pick: John Cena – As much as I want to follow suit with my fellow compatriots, and as much as I really, really, really want Rocky to win, I don’t see this Mania ending in any other way than with John Cena’s hand raised, solely for the fact that, on April 2nd, Cena will be there and Rock won’t.

Derick’s Pick: The Rock – There is no reason to pass the torch to someone who already has the torch firmly in his grasp. We’ve Cena ’nuff.

Hell in a Cell  Match

The Undertaker vs Triple H – Special Guest Referee Shawn Michaels

Robbie’s Pick: The Undertaker – My days of wanting the Streak to end are over. Orton at Wrestlemania 21 would have made sense since it was Legend vs Legend Killer. HBK brought him closer to defeat than anyone ever has and last years match was pretty damn amazing also against Triple H.  The X-Factor here will of course be Shawn but at the end of the match The Undertaker will go 20-0 Sunday.

Shane’s Pick: Undertaker – Taker’s not going to lose at Mania, end of story.

Derick’s Pick: The Undertaker – Taker goes 20-0 and post match both Triple H and The Undertaker retire making it a true “End of an Era”.

   WWE Championship Match

CM Punk vs Chris Jericho

Robbie’s Pick: CM Punk – I have been begging for this match since last Summer when Punk started calling himself “The Best in The World!” As much as I want Y2J to be WWE Champion I don’t want Punk to loose it just as much. This man has brought some prestige back to the Championship by holding it since Survivor Series giving him a good run so far. I have been very vocal about wanting title reigns to last longer and they have done a good job of this lately. That being said I do believe Y2J will be the next WWE Champion just not sure if its going to be Sunday. Tough call but I’m going with Punk.

Shane’s Pick:  CM Punk – I see Jericho winning at the next PPV and he and Punk feuding until Summerslam, maybe, but I see Punk leaving with the title in Miami.

Derick’s Pick: CM Punk – Even though Jericho has signed a contract extension with WWE, I still see CM Punk holding the Championship awhile longer.

World Heavyweight Championship Match

Sheamus vs Daniel Bryan

Robbie’s Pick: Sheamus – One of the two major titles are switching hands. I can see this one being the one that does Sunday. I love Daniel Bryan and have become a huge fan of him and Sheamus over the past year or so. I don’t see this match getting as much time as The WWE Championship Match but I’m going for Sheamus to be “The First Irish Born WWE and World Heavyweight Champion”

Shane’s Pick: Sheamus – Gotta go with this title changing if I’m picking them keeping the belt on Punk.  We went through last year with no major title changes, so I don’t see that happening two years in a row.  Plus, as much as I like Bryan, it’ll work to really push Sheamus as the babyface on Smackdown, which is something they need.

Derick’s Pick: Sheamus – The weaselly ways of D. Bryan comes to an end at Wrestlemania.

Intercontinental Championship Match

Cody Rhodes vs The Big Show

Robbie’s Pick: The Big Show – After a 10 year absence The Intercontinental Championship will be defended at Wrestlemania once again. From the story they have been building up I honestly see Big Show breaking his loosing streak and walking out champion this year as Cody moves on up the ladder in the process.

Shane’s Pick: Cody Rhodes – Putting the IC belt on Show at this point in his career is useless, but a win over Show at Mania does wonders for Cody.

Derick’s Pick: Cody Rhodes – The dude has been a solid champion and I can see his championship reign lasting for a good while, possible even making reference to “The Honky Tonk Man” by matching or surpassing that record.

12-Man Tag Team Match

Team Johnny vs Team Teddy

Robbie’s Pick: Team Johnny – Overall Team Johnny has the more credible team. While I have been a fan of Teddy over the years and a major fan of Booker T, Santino and Zack Ryder, I see Johnny running both shows though somehow. Even if Teddy Wins, I could see John pulling some under handed shenanigans since he is Head of Talent Relations and “Future Endeavor” Teddy on the spot simply out of spite if his team looses.

Shane’s Pick: Team Teddy – This match is hard to pick, because I don’t really figure on Teddy running Raw, honestly, but I don’t really see the heels going over in a match like this.  Will be interesting to see how it works out.

Derick’s Pick: “Umm Which Team is Santino on? Which Team is Booker T. on?” – That’s my answer

Singles Match

Kane vs Randy Orton

Robbie’s Pick: Randy Orton – I wish this match had more of a buildup and was taking place as a NO DQ Match or something a little more hardcore to allow both these guys to thrive in their element. Randy has had good matches at Wrestlemania that didn’t involve a championship. With wins over Legacy at WM26 and CM Punk at WM27, Orton has shown he can still shine when not in the main event. I hope this year is no different.

Shane’s Pick: Randy Orton – This match is almost a throwaway match, really, but I see Randy coming out of it the winner.

Derick’s Pick: Randy Orton – As much of a Monster as  Kane has become over the years The Viper has become far more dangerous than Kane ever will be.

Diva’s Tag-Team Match

Kelly Kelly & Maria Menounos vs.

Beth Phoenix & Eve

Robbie’s Pick: Kelly Kelly and Maria Menounos“Celebrity Personalty” involved pretty much a no brainer.

Shane’s Pick: Kelly & Maria – Celebrity for the win.

Derick’s Pick: There’s a Diva’s match?….I guess Kelly Kelly and Maria what’s her face. – Same logic as Rob’s… Seriously there’s a Diva Match at WM this year!?!?

WWE Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Match

Primo & Epico vs Justin Gabriel & Tyson Kidd vs The Usos

Robbie’s Pick: The Usos – This is a pre-show bonus match. Apparently the tag team titles are still not important enough this year to make the main card. 😦

Shane’s Pick: Primo and Epico

Derick’s Pick: Primo and Epico – Tag Titles stay.
